Book of Condolence for Nelson Mandela opens at Mansion House today

By request of the South African Ambassador to Ireland Jeremiah Ndou, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Oisín Quinn will make a Book of Condolence available for signing at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, to mark the passing of Nelson Mandela, from 2pm today, Friday 6th December.

“I am opening this Book of Condolence to allow the people of Dublin an opportunity to express their own feelings for the loss of Nelson Mandela, Freeman of Dublin. He was an inspirational man who delivered his nation from the dark days of apartheid to democracy through peaceful reconciliation.” said the Lord Mayor.

The Book will be available for signing as follows:

Friday, 6th December, 2013. 2pm – 5pm

Saturday, 7th December, 2013. 10am – 5pm

Sunday, 8th December, 2013. 10am – 5pm

On Monday 9th December the Book of Condolence will then be moved and opened at the South African Ambassador’s Residence at 20a Shrewsbury Road, Ballsbridge until Friday from 10:00 – 15:00.
