CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR TRAVEL GUIDE:
DUBLIN BUS:
- · NITELINK will be running from December 19th-22nd and again on New Year’s Eve.
- · Bus services will be running until 9pm on Christmas Eve operating a Saturday service.
- · There will be no services on Christmas Day.
- · Bus services will be running until 10pm on New Year’s Eve also operating a Saturday service.
- · On New Year’s Day a Sunday service will operate.
- · Diversions will also be in place on some routes due to the New Year’s Eve Festival.
DART AND INTERCITY RAIL SERVICES:
Christmas Eve Monday 24th December
Intercity services will
operate a regular service with some alterations and cancellations until
approximately 20:00 hrs
DART and Dublin Commuter
services will operate a Saturday service until approximately 21:00 hrs (20.00hrs
for Heuston routes)
Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day 25th & 26th
December
No rail services will
operate on these dates.
Thursday 27th to Saturday 29th December
Intercity services will
operate to a weekday service with some alterations and cancellations
DART and Dublin Commuter will
operate a Saturday service
Sunday 30th December
A normal Sunday service will
operate, except for some alterations on Dublin to Cork, Limerick, Galway and
Sligo routes
New Year's Eve Monday 31st December
Intercity services will
operate a regular service with some alterations and cancellations until
approximately 20:00 hrs
DART and Dublin Commuter
services will operate a Saturday service until approximately 21:00 hrs
(20.00hrs for Heuston routes)
Late night services will
operate after midnight on DART, Dundalk, Maynooth and Kildare commuter routes.
New Year's Day Tuesday 1st January 2019
Heuston Intercity services
will operate to a revised schedule, please check times before travel
DART will operate a Sunday service
Dublin Commuter services
will operate a Sunday service with some alterations
Wednesday 2nd January 2019

Night Luas trams will run
until the early hours on the Red & Green lines on Fri 21st, Sat 22nd Dec
& NYE Mon 31st Dec.
Night Luas trams will run in both directions collecting passengers at all stops
on the Green Line and Red Line. However, the last Night Luas trams will only
run out of the city centre.

• A validated Leap Card, valid
Night Luas ticket, valid commuter ticket or validated Public Service Card with
Free Travel is required to use Night Luas.

Night Luas costs €4 with Leap Card. Don’t forget to Touch On & Off your
Leap Card to get the best value.
• A Night Luas ticket costs €5 from
a Luas Ticket Machine.
• Luas Annual, Monthly and 30 Day
tickets are valid on Night Luas services.
Luas Last Trams
Regular Luas services have
quite late operating hours so Luas is a good option for late night shopping and
entertainment over the Christmas season any night.

00:30 Mon - Fri, 00:30 Sat & 23:30 Sun
• Last tram from Connolly is at
19:31 but later trams serve Busáras (c.200m walk)
• Last tram from Saggart is at
23:52 Mon - Sat & 22:51 Sun
• Last tram from Tallaght is at
00:00 Mon - Sat & 23:00 Sun
• Last tram from Broombridge is at
00:17 Mon - Sat & 23:17 Sun
• Last tram from Brides Glen is at
00:00 Mon - Sat & 23:00 Sun
Please note trams running into the city centre finish earlier than those
running out of the city centre. Also, selected stops have different first /
last tram times. There may be some other limited alterations to these services
over Christmas. So always check the Real Time Info online, on the Luas App or at the Luas
Stop before travelling.
