Well Hugh Hick came last in the votes last week so he was given the task of setting the theme for this weeks choices and he went with guilty pleasures and what a rogues gallery of awfulness it has proved to be.

Finally John Neary had his time to shine, and shine he did with this homage to coastal roads by the Lighthouse Family.

Monday's #GameOf Tunes selections
Every Monday after half 4 John, Hugh and Producer John are going head to head in a musical battle.
Each one of us will pick a song that we think is better than anything the other person has chosen, you the listener gets to decide which one is best.
After we've played all three songs, text, tweet or WhatsApp the show with your vote. At half five the winner will be crowned in our very own Game Of Tunes.
Here are the selections the second Game of Tunes battle:
Still sore from being defeated last week Mr John Neary went with this little ditty from Vallis Alps.
Producer John played it safe and chose a new track from Alabama Shakes - Future People. A bit of a departure for these guys, the new album is out in April.
Hugh went from being the romantic soft centered choice last week to this blood soaked tune from Amanda Palmer. This video may not be suitable for work unless your a 19th Century surgeon.
In the end it was a very tight run competition and sneaking the win today was Mr Neary. We'll announce the theme for next weeks Game Of Tunes sometime during the week.

Opera in the Open 2013
It's something we look forward to every year and Opera In The Open is back once again.
Live and outdoors from the Amphitheater, beside the Civic Offices on Wood Quay, every Thursday lunchtime at 1pm for the month of August.
It's been running for 13 years years and this year features Tosca, Werther, The Turn of the Screw, L'Elisir D'Amore and Candide.

Bloomin' Brilliant!
If The Camden Crawl Dublin whet your whistle for the coming festival season then you might enjoy sinking your ears into youbloom.
Dublin will host over 50 international acts and 50 Irish acts in 5 different venues from 28 – 30 June 2013. On top of that there's a bunch of talks from big wigs in the music business. AND tickets are cheap, €15 for a night ticket €35 for weekend tickets & €75 for full delegate passes, all tickets available from www.entertainment.ie

Forbidden Fruit 2013
Festival Season has truly kicked in with the first of the big ones on this weekend right on our doorstep. Forbidden Fruit, now in it's second year takes place this Saturday and Sunday in Kilmainham in the grounds of the Museum of Modern Art.
How will it affect traffic?
The N4 will be heavier than normal as will St Johns Rd and the Grand Canal. Island Bridge, Kilmainham and Inchicore will all see an increase in volume.
With Bloom also on in the Phoenix Park we advise you all to use public transport.

By Luas: Red line to Heuston Station, 5 minute walk to Museum entrance on Military Road. For further information about Luas please click here. There are great park and ride facilities on the red line at The red Cow, Cheeverstown and Tallaght stops.

Africa Day Celebrations Phoenix PArk
Farmleigh House in Phoenix Park is hosting a FREE event this weekend.
For music fans you can look forward to 2 stages of live music throughout the day.
Africa Day events in Ireland are supported by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Further information is available at www.africaday.ie.
It all starts at 11 AM and continues until 5 PM, There's a convenient shuttle bus from Heuston Station /Parkgate St to Famleigh.
For music fans you can look forward to 2 stages of live music throughout the day.
The Main Stage will have Colours Afrobeat Foundaton, No Limits, Stone & Jezreel, Gypsy Rebel Rabble, The Amazing Few and Madu. You will also have the chance to catch The Multiverse and Niwel Tsumbu with Shane O’Donovan and Peter Erdei plus at the end of the day the Discovery Gospel Choir will wrap everything up. t.
Stage 2 has lined up loads of up and coming DJ's and rappers from Dublin such as, DJ Wax, ShoBiz, Graciano Major, Funzo and loads more.
There's also an African Bazar, face painting, storytelling and lots lots more to do and see.

Tandem Felix - Tell Yer Loved Ones More great Irish music I'll leave to someone far more eloquent to describe them "Tandem Felix may be the best thing to come out of a Dublin secondary school French class in quite some time. What you get from the young four-piece is spikey, spacey indie rock with some interesting pop and quasi-classical strokes in the mix too." - Jim Carroll, Irish Times.
Junip - Life is Your Call José González is back this time he's brought a band.
Rose And The Howling North - Cuckoo This has been a huge hit with listeners so we thought we'd put it up again.
Les Enfants - Celeste Not the 80's Irish band but a group from New Zealand with a knack for a good tune.
Baywood - Gotta Get You. This is yet another infectious alt-pop song with the obligatory vocal harmonies and bearded band members. We like it.

Brian Deady - Sun Up. Cork based singer, he released this in 2009 and we absolutely love it!
Darwin Deez - You Can't Be My Girl. The hipster attired indie band is back with another gem of a tune and a funny clip to boot.
Phosphorescent - Song for Zula. It won't be long till this is on Grey's Anatomy, so enjoy it while you still can.
Woodkid - Run Boy Run. This track was used on a popular TV ad recently, it has a really great video and is producers Johns running track of choice at the moment.
Lemaitre - Cut To Black. We can not stop playing this tune in the office. It's really top class.
Public Service Broadcasting - Signal 30. OK so Queens of the Stone Age have released a new single, and to be honest it's not great, so to make everyone feel better, plug in your headphones and enjoy this cracking tune.

Record Store Day 2013 in Tower.
Three of our favorite things on live drive are music, coffee and ice cream! With world record day just around the corner Tower Records have made an event so tasty it seems a shame not to let you all know about it.
Not only that but the whole event is family friendly, here's the spiel:
The countdown is on for Record Store Day 2013 at Tower Records! This coming Saturday, April 20th, hundreds will queue outside Tower Records, Wicklow Street and Easons, O’Connell Street, vying to be amongst the first to scramble through the doors at 9am. Their mission: to nab the much sought after limited edition exclusive Record Store Day releases from many of the world’s biggest artists, from Bowie to Bush, Dylan to Hendrix, Cave to Drake to Gza to Zappa and hundreds in between! What releases will be available for music zealots to purchase is pretty much anyone’s guess. Tower Records put in the orders for copies of all Record Store Day releases and then the wait commences. Big brown boxes arrive, their skins are peeled back and their Record Store Day crgo is revealed. A little of this, a lot of that, hardly any of one, none of another.
A worldwide occasion to celebrate the independent record store, Record Store Day 2013 at Tower Records Dublin will feature a myriad of fun stuff – free Captain Americanos coffee courtesy of Captain Americas from 6.30am for all the freezing souls queuing on Wicklow Street; the ultimate rock’n’roll breakfast from 9am in Tower Soundbites Café, followed by delicious coffees, cakes and lunches all day long and acoustic sets from Owensie and The Twilight Sad; legendary Bray goodie purveyors Teddy’s will be doling out the creamy ices from around 11am ‘til the afternoon compliments of Tower; cool Tower Record balloons for the kids, to go with their epic first album purchases and a number of special items to purchase such as signed albums, posters and artwork from a variety of acts including Phoenix, Biffy Clyro, Lewis Watson and more.
Tower Live on Record Store Day will take place at Madison Nightclub just beside the shop on Wicklow Street. The schedule has now been confirmed and will run approximately as follows. Doors open at 12.30pm. All the concerts are free but admission is by wristband only. Wristbands can be collected from the stall in the front window of the Wicklow Street store from 9am on Saturday morning. Young people are very welcome up until 6pm. All under 18’s must leave Madison at 6pm. Please note that Under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult. ID will be required for Over 18’s wristbands!
