Pottery Road Improvement Scheme

On Monday 11th November  a one-way system was installed on  Pottery Road from Johnstown Road to Mackintosh Park. There is no entry to Pottery  Road from Johnstown Road and all traffic on Pottery Road (from Mackintosh Park) will  have to move one-way towards Johnstown Road. This system will be in place for approx.  6 months and a diversion route will be signposted. This is putting extra traffic onto Rochestown Ave.

23rd October - for approximately 2 weeks: Tree felling operations has commenced. In order to safely fell the trees and allow time for their safe removal it is required that traffic is stopped for periods of up to 10 minutes. It is strongly recommended that you avoidPottery Road during working hours as it is expected that delays will be significant.

Works are commencing on the 21st of October. Below is an indicative programme of works over the first number of weeks. Please note that works may be shorter or longer depending on site conditions and if required the Contractor may carry out some sections in a different order than shown below.

Weeks 1 – 4

Works will commence at the Johnstown Road end of Pottery Road and move along the entire length and will include:

Site clearance
Trial holes
CPO land access
Erection of temporary fencing
Tree removal

Below are samples of the proposed traffic management plans and this type of traffic control will be replicated along the route during this phase of the works.

In parallel, construction of the attenuation ponds will commence in the middle of November and will continue until approximately January 2014. Landscaping of these ponds is programmed for March 2014

Upon completion of the site clearance a one-way system from Amgen to Johnstown Road will be installed towards the middle of November 2013 (with cars required to travel towards Johnstown Road). This phase of works will take approximately 5 months with traffic management being switched from one side of the road to the other at approximately half way (2.5 months)
