Details of north and south quays closures this weekend.

To facilitate essential Luas Cross City construction works from 8pm this Friday until 6am next Tuesday (August 2nd), Dublin's north and south quays will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic at O'Connell Bridge.

It's strongly advised that where possible you avoid driving into the city over the bank holiday weekend as the closure is likely to cause major disruption into in the city centre. For anyone attending the GAA All-Ireland Senior & Minor Championship on Saturday/Sunday, we recommend approaching from the north side via M50/Swords Rd if possible.

Barcelona play Celtic in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday as well, and likewise, we would suggest that traffic heading to it approach from the south side.

As an encouragement to use public transport over the weekend, park-and-ride facilities will be free for the Luas and for DART and rail stops in the short-hop zone. If you're using the Luas Red Line, you can use the Red Cow & Cheeverstown Park & Rides. DART users can check www.irishrail.ie for a list of all available car parks.

Due to the closure, there will be a number of diversions on Dublin Bus services. Please see www.dublinbus.ie for full details. Please note that there will be in diversions on the 122 both this weekend and next, both of which are available on the Dublin Bus Website.

More details along with suggested diversions are available on www.luascrosscity.ie.
