Dublin City Weekend Water Restrictions
Nightly Water Restrictions to apply to all areas of Dublin City this Weekend
Dublin City Council is urging consumers all over the City to conserve water this weekend, to restore levels in our treated water reservoirs to normal. Nightly restrictions will be put in place from 10.00pm to 7am or 9.00am each night, from Thursday 28th March to Tuesday 2nd April. This will assist us in replenishing treated drinking water levels to a normal level. A review of levels will be conducted again on Tuesday next, to determine if our reservoirs are adequately full such that the restrictions can be lifted.
The reason for the restrictions is twofold. Water demand is currently running at a higher than average due to the unseasonably cold weather which has caused an increase in leakage. Our crews are repairing any breaks to the public mains as they arise. To help us in this regard we are asking people to report any location where they see water rising or running over the ground. They can do so by using the Emergency Telephone Number 01-6796186 outside office hours. Coupled with the cold weather, a minor production issue at our Roundwood Water Treatment Plant has also caused a reduction in supply, further reducing water levels. It should be stressed that there is no problem with the quality of treated drinking water or with storage levels of untreated/raw water.
In an effort to maintain storage at a sustainable level, we are asking consumers to help us in restoring adequate water supplies by restricting their use of water as much as possible. We are asking people to visit www.taptips.ie for easy water saving tips. We will be reducing pressures throughout the system over the weekend in order to conserve supplies. While we will make every effort possible to maintain pressures during peak demand periods, but pressures will be reduced during the times indicated above. This will result in lower pressures and in some cases possible loss of supply. People may notice reductions in pressure or loss of supply throughout the entire city.
Dublin City Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these restrictions and will do everything possible to minimise their scale and duration. We are asking consumers bear with us while we work to restore the water supply to normal.

The result of this misspent youth is his hilarious show, One-Man Star Wars™ Trilogy, where he single-handedly plays all the characters, sings the music, flies the ships, fights the battles and condenses the plots of the original first three Star Wars™ movies!
Written and performed by Ross and directed by TJ Dawe, One-Man Star Wars™ Trilogy has been bringing countless audiences, large and small, to their feet since its first performance in Toronto, Ontario, in January 2001. Its early success in North America led to appearances on popular TV programmes such as The Today Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien and an off-Broadway run in New York in 2005. This was followed by its European debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe the following year, where every single show of its four-week run sold out.
Since then, Ross has toured the world with the show, performing it over 1,200 times in more than 180 cities across four continents. He has appeared at numerous theatres around the globe, from Dubai and Sydney to New York and London’s West End, entertained muddy festival goers at Glastonbury, been the highlight of official Star Wars Celebration events and most recently made his third successful return to the Edinburgh Fringe last August.

Patrons can avail of either the Red Line or Green Line.
Red Line:
- Patrons can avail of the Red Cow Car Park and the Tallaght Cross West Car Park where they can avail of the Luas to Connolly Station where they can avail of the DART to Lansdowne Road (All Routes) or continue to the O2 where they can walk across the East Link Bridge to the Stadium Area (Purple Route).
Green Line:
- Patrons can avail of the Balally Car Park, Stillorgan Car Park, Beacon South Quarter Luas Car Park and the Sandyford Park car park where they can avail of the Luas to Ranelagh or St. Stephen’s Green which are only 15 minutes walk from the Stadium. (Blue, Orange and Green Routes).

Irish Rail run additional services for patrons attending at events at the Aviva Stadium. There will be extra inter-city trains from all areas of the country running to Dublin City.
Southern Route inter-city trains run to Pearse Station and the Northern and North Western lines run to Connolly Station. The DART can be then accessed from these stations. The South Western line runs into Heuston Station where feeder buses are available to transfer patrons to Tara Street Station where again the DART can be accessed.
There are also car parks at most DART Stations along the route. Please check your local DART Station for information.
There is a Park & Ride facility at the M3 Parkway Train Station located near Dunboyne. This facility is just off the M3 motorway and is also easily accessible from the M50.
