Dublin's new Lord Mayor to be elected tonight.

Dublin’s Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí will officially hand over the chain of office to his successor, following the election this evening of the new Lord Mayor at the City Council’s annual meeting.

The Meeting begins at 6.45pm and the result of the election should be announced between 7.45pm and 8.00pm.

The election of the Deputy Lord Mayor will also take place when the incumbent Councillor Clare Byrne hands over the reins to the newly elected Deputy, this election should finish up sometime after 8.00 PM
