Rialto Area Improvement Scheme

The Rialto area improvement works are now taking place and will last 30 weeks. This is phase 1 and will be between SCR : Glenmalure Park to east of Rialto Catholic Church.

This is the works that will take place:

Reduce the size of the existing roundabout.
Reconstruct pedestrian crossing facilities.
Resurface existing carriageway.
Provide and improve cycling facilities including the provision of segregated cycle tracks along South Circular Road.
Regularise parking by the provision of designated parking bays.
Upgrade footpaths with granite kerbs and concrete flags.
Provide new public lighting.
Replace section of water-main and boundary boxes.
Provide additional trees.
Provide new street furniture.

It has been very busy in the area over the past few months and this will add extra pressure on the road network. Expect extra delays.
